minutesThis curly crunchy pie is everything you could want when you refer to a homemade pie. The savory creamy filling with cheese and vegetables is a huge bonus, even the pickiest of eaters will eat with great appetite. I love pies like this, that’s why I created this one too, I wanted a tasty pie, in which I could combine more than one vegetable with cheese, but two, and the result would be amazing. And, I really succeeded! It looks sophisticated but is very easy to make!
Ingredients
1 pack of sheets for the pie (400g)
3 eggs
250 g grated mature goat cheese
250 g grated zucchini
100 g chopped boiled spinach
100 g grated smoked cheese
2 teaspoons of corn starch
80 g of butter
3 tablespoons of oil
100 ml cooking cream
130 ml of milk
salt, pepper to taste
spices with a mix of aromatic herbs (optional)
Directions
- When you use a ready-made dough, such pies do not require much preparation time. I used fresh spinach that I boiled and chopped finely. I grated the zucchini and the cheeses, and melted the butter and let it cool slightly.
- I worked orderly: I chose a bowl big enough to mix the filling and a tray in which I placed baking paper. In the bowl I added the ingredients one by one: the cheeses, eggs, vegetables, spices, the starch previously dissolved with a little milk, cream for cooking and the milk. I mixed everything well and I’m ready to assemble the curly pie.
- The first time we placed a sheet in the tray, enough to cover the walls of the tray, but to fall slightly on the side, this procedure helped us in the end. Then I placed 3 sheets, slightly wrinkled, on the bottom of the trays. I greased the sheets with melted butter mixed with oil and poured half of the previously formed mixture. I repeated the process once more.
- I added the last remaining sheets on top, also wrinkled, and then we lifted the sheets from the edge of the tray one by one, bringing them to the center. Grease with the rest of the remaining butter and put the pie in the oven for about 40-45 minutes. If it seems to you that it browns too quickly on top, add a baking paper and continue to bake it for the remaining time.
- The smell from the kitchen is indescribable, the most childish being that of cheeses and butter. Take the pie out of the oven and let it cool down to room temperature, it will take several hours, but it will be worth the wait.
- We hardly managed to refrain from eating it all at once. On this occasion, I noticed that the next day it remained as crispy when I cut it. The savory filling is simply amazingly delicious, I am more than satisfied with this curly pie. I will definitely do it again as soon as possible. Enjoy!!
