A small kitchen innovation can change everything. When I received the FRAM electric grill, I immediately realized I could transform a simple meal into a spectacular brunch or dinner by cooking two dishes at the same time.
On the grill, I made juicy, crispy chicken and bacon skewers and savory cheddar pancakes, fluffy and golden. Both were cooked directly on the grill surface.
The 180° opening made everything much easier: I was able to monitor both dishes simultaneously, without moving them around or constantly checking on them. The result? Perfectly even and absolutely impressive.
This “2-in-1” meal brings together contrasting textures and flavors: sweet and savory, crispy and fluffy, with vibrant colors—ideal for a relaxed brunch or a quick dinner. Fast, delicious, and visually impressive, this recipe shows just how much a well-designed electric grill can simplify and elevate your cooking experience.

Ingredients

  • Chicken and Bacon Skewers (5–6 skewers)
  • 400–500 g chicken breast, cut into 2–3 cm cubes

  • 150–200 g bacon, cut into similar-sized pieces

  • 1 large bell pepper (red, yellow, or orange), cut into 2–3 cm cubes

  • 1 medium onion, cut into thick slices

  • 1/2 zucchini, cut into thick slices

  • 5–6 skewers

  • Salt, pepper, paprika

  • 1 teaspoon oil, for brushing

  • Cheddar Pancakes (8–10 pancakes)
  • 200 g flour

  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 2 eggs

  • 250 ml milk

  • 50 ml oil or melted butter

  • 50 g grated cheese (cheddar, Gouda, or Parmesan)

  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh herbs (dill, parsley, or green onion)

Preparation method

  • Tip from the very beginning: It’s very important to organize your ingredients before you start cooking—have everything chopped, measured, and within reach.   • We start with the savory pancakes. I mixed the dry ingredients in a bowl and set them aside. In a separate bowl, I whisked the eggs together with the milk and oil, then gently incorporated the dry ingredients, mixing lightly without overmixing to keep the pancakes fluffy.

  • Meanwhile, I moved on to the skewers. The chicken, cut into cubes, was lightly seasoned, then I began assembling the skewers, alternating pieces of chicken, bacon, bell pepper, zucchini, and onion.   • Once the pancake batter had rested, I heated the FRAM grill to medium and lightly brushed the surface with a little oil to prevent sticking. I poured the first ladle of batter, letting it settle and form the characteristic gentle waves.   • While the pancake was cooking on one side of the grill, the chicken and bacon skewers with vegetables started to brown on the other.   • I stacked the pancakes on plates and placed the chicken and bacon skewers with vegetables alongside them. Everyone served themselves as they wished.
