Honestly, all this madness started from the fact that I wanted to make a snack using some pastry dough modeling tricks that I had seen on social media. But, unfortunately, it was not to be. However, the dish in the end turned out to be very delicious, even if it wasn’t with a “bling-bling” look it was really tasty.
I wanted to fail this recipe, my luck that something tasty came out in the end. I worked with “nerves on the ground” – the Romanian saying, and I was very close to giving up. I went ahead thanks to the encouragement around me but also due to the fact that I don’t like to waste food.

Ingredients

  • 150 g cream cheese

  • 1 packet of puff pastry (400 g)

  • 30 g chopped olives

  • 2 chopped green onions

  • 1 tablespoon of corn

  • 60 g grated smoked cheese

  • 1 egg

  • 2 tablespoons of milk

  • 50 g of finely chopped red pepper

  • salt, pepper, paprika to taste

  • 80 g smoked sausages fried

Directions

  • Because it is a quick and easy recipe, we can practically do a little “cleaning” in the refrigerator and use almost everything that can be added to a simple puff pastry. We do not need industrial quantities because we are preparing a snack.
  • Roll up the pastry dough on the table. We spread the cream cheese over the dough. Cut the dough into squares, then in the middle of each square, cut another square.
  • In a bowl, mix all the finely chopped ingredients, except for the cheese, egg and milk. Add a full teaspoon of the mixture obtained earlier to the smallest square. If there is any composition left, you can use it for an omelette the next morning, if not on the day in question.
  • Yeahh…I’ve reached the “nerves” part…modeling, or wrapping, depends on how you want to call it. In the end I tried to bring two of the opposite corners, forming a kind of rhombus shape. Mix the egg with milk and brush the dough.Transfer everything to a tray, my advice would be to work from the beginning in the tray, sprinkle with cheese and bake for 15-20 minutes at 200 degrees.

  • Voila! Here is the final result! They are actually smell pretty great, that cream cheese really flavors the pastry dough, and the smoked grated cheese formed a delicious crust on top.
